What does it take to scale a company globally?
When Marcus Sultzer joined EQS Group in 2007, the company had around 35 employees, approx. €5 million in revenues in one business segment (Investor Relations) and operated only in Germany. Today, EQS is a global SaaS provider in the GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) space with business segments spanning across Investor Relations, Compliance & Ethics, Data Privacy and AI Governance, as well as Sustainability.
In this Alumni Talk, Marcus shares what happened to him and the company in between: Regulatory tailwind, different crises, entering new markets, M&A activities, building and scaling a best-in-class revenue organization, from stock-listing to PE-owned - and constant company- and self-transformation. The challenges. The success. And the decisions that made the difference - building a company with 14 offices globally, 600 people and €120 million in revenue today - and still not being there.
Alongside these inspiring impulses, the evening will also focus on exchange within our SIBE community:

Meet the speaker:
SIBE alumnus Marcus Sultzer studied Economics with a major in Marketing and did his SIBE MBA in 2008/2009. During nearly 19 years at EQS Group, he has helped shape the company’s international and commercial development. His career at EQS has taken him from Munich to Moscow and to Asia, with multiple shorter stays at EQS’ offices around the globe - and, ultimately, into the Executive Board and the Chief Revenue Officer role, where he leads the company’s global growth activities.
His Alumni Talk offers an authentic, first-hand perspective on scaling an international technology company, building a global commercial organization and continuously adapting to new markets, regulations and technologies.
