Strategic foresight
Benefit for companies
The importance of strategic foresight is now recognized by most companies. Yet only a few companies have so far been using their tools: scenario planning, trend radar, or even Delphi studies; to name just three of the more than 40 proven tools in practice.

The English-language KPMG study „A New Architecture of Intelligence – Technology, Infrastructure and Sovereignty to 2036“ is based on a structured dialogue with executives from globally operating companies. The focus is on key technological developments and their impact on infrastructure, governance, and sovereignty by 2036.
As part of a systematic, multi-stage Delphi survey process, more than 3,600 expert assessments were collected and evaluated regarding future developments, as well as around 2,800 arguments and contributions to the discussion.
The participating companies represent millions of employees and bring perspectives from different industries. The study takes into account the increasing technological convergence and enables the understanding and strategic positioning of future developments in their interactions.
The KPMG Future Study „Global Mobility 2040Plus“ examines how global developments will shape the international mobility of talent in the future. The study was published by the KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft and scientifically supported by the Steinbeis School of International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIBE).
SIBE supported the study primarily through its scientific foresight expertise. This included structuring the methodological approach and identifying key signals and drivers of change. These preliminary efforts formed a key foundation for the further analyses and scenario development by KPMG.
The study shows how geopolitical, technological, and labor market-related changes influence existing mobility structures. At the same time, it highlights the strategic options that result for companies and other organizations.
The study „Effective Future of Welfare Care“ was conducted by the Steinbeis School of International Business and Entrepreneurship (SIBE) on behalf of the Paritätisches Wohlfahrtsverband Baden-Württemberg. In February 2024, it was presented to the more than 900 member organizations of the association.
The focus is on solutions for the current and future challenges of welfare care. In particular, the demographic change, the increasing digitalization, and the shortage of skilled workers are considered.
As a basis for the study, 284 microtrends from 29 countries, insights from 12 experts, and extensive in-depth analyses on selected topics were evaluated. This provides a solid foundation for early detection of future developments and the identification of appropriate options for action.
