The present text is a confession of what our university is by its very essence. This is by no means the first time we have considered the principles of our university. This text is based on a variety of publications that can be found in the bibliography at the end of this text. This text is a preliminary, announced conclusion of all our previous reflections. This document serves as the basis for the development of our education and research as well as the starting point for our future reflections and discussions about the nature of our institution.
This text therefore corresponds to the demand of the German Science Council, according to which every university should in future present its original ideas regarding teaching in a teaching charter.
Although this text was written and published by the authors, the foundations for all these ideas that inspired us to write this text and all the previous texts stem from the people who work in, with, and especially at our university.
And so, without any detour or effort, we would like to thank all these people for their thinking and actions. Only through them does our university institution become what it is: a valuable reality for society.
