Innovation has always not only provided new and creative solutions, but also fundamentally marked a turning point in the history of humanity. Yet never before has the call for new thinking and radical innovation been as loud in our world as today – a world characterized by high dynamism and complexity in all aspects of life. The result is permanent change, both at the national and global level. This not only presents numerous challenges but also, especially, great opportunities to achieve further progress and revolutionary developments and to advance humanity as a whole.

Innovations are no longer just „nice to have“; they are essential for economic success, social stability, and the preservation of our living space. At the core of the present work, selected economies (Germany, Switzerland, the USA, China, and Brazil) are examined in terms of their ability and willingness to secure and develop their competitiveness and future potential, specifically through radical and disruptive innovations.

The Steinbeis Innovation Study was developed under the leadership of the School of International Business and Entrepreneurship in close cooperation with the Chair of General Psychology and Methods at Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg. The successful collaboration between the two organizations is also evident in the establishment of a joint research project in the field of InnovationLeadership, which significantly shapes the concept and aims to unleash significant innovation potential through leadership.
