Effect of the INQA company check “Good Medium-Sized Businesses” put to the test

2. November 2021
Redaktion SIBE

On April 13, the official kick-off of the research project “Evaluation of the operational application of the INQA company check ‘Guter Mittelstand – Erfolg ist kein Zufall!'” took place. The digital event focused on the constitution of the project advisory board. More than 20 renowned experts from business and science have been recruited to serve on the project advisory board.

“We are particularly pleased with the diverse makeup of the Project Advisory Board. With their decades of experience and the resulting concentrated professional expertise from a wide variety of fields, each individual member of the project advisory board will be able to make a valuable contribution to the project. We are looking at representatives from universities and colleges, chambers of commerce, consultancies, politics and transfer-oriented institutions. This diversity makes me very positive for the further course of this exciting research project,” says Prof. Dr. David Rygl, Professor of International Management at SIBE and overall project manager of the research project.

During the kick-off event, representatives of SIBE and its project partner, KPMG, provided insights into the project’s objectives, methodology and planning. The virtual event resulted in stimulating discussions among all participants on various facets of the investigation of the effects of the Business Check. The discussion showed the great interest of the advisory board members in the research questions of the project and their answers in the field of tension between science and practice orientation.

SIBE, KPMG and BAuA would like to thank all members of the project advisory board for the open and constructive exchange and look forward to the further course of the research project.

The research project

The INQA Company Check “Good Medium-Sized Businesses” was developed within the framework of the New Quality of Work Initiative (INQA). The tool enables small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to analyse their internal working conditions and processes. The research project “Evaluation of the company application of the INQA company check ‘Guter Mittelstand – Erfolg ist kein Zufall!'” is now intended to gain insights into how the check is used in the companies and to what extent improvements are initiated as a result. In this framework, a distinction is made between independent application and application accompanied by consultations.
