„SIBE´s M.A./MBA(USA) program is a great alternative to usual full-time MBA programs!“

Conversation with SIBE-student Christoph Bechtel – Study progamme: M.A./MBA (USA)

First degree: History and Culture of the Middle East, semitic languages
Course name: MAMBA05a
Year of graduation: 2019

Can you briefly start by telling in which company you currently work? When did you start there and what are your tasks?

I currently work at OfferToro Ltd., a small startup in the field of mobile advertising. I started this position in May 2017 and my tasks are mainly managing the publishing side of the business. This includes managing our key accounts, improving day-to-day performance and managing payments.

Why did you decide to combine full-time work abroad with work-integrated studies?

I relocated to Israel in February 2015, right after receiving my undergraduate degree from Freie Universität Berlin. After the relocation I had the chance to gain some very interesting experiences in the field of Sales and Marketing, but I always wanted to achieve a graduate degree. Regular MBA programs here are one year programs and therefore full-time. SIBE´s M.A./MBA(USA) program was a great alternative to combine the theoretical part of academics with the practical part of a regular profession.

How important is the formation of a professional international network during your studies? How do you benefit from the MAMBA program in terms of building your network?

It is always an advantage to increase your network, especially outside the obvious circles of your profession/ company/ geographical area. Since the M.A./MBA(USA) program is 100% online, the staff and peers are located internationally which is adding a lot to the value of the network.

You´re a few months into the program now, how do you manage to organize yourself and combine your work with your study program?

It can be tough at the beginning to organize yourself, but the forgiven structure of the M.A./MBA(USA) program helps a lot. I usually work on the studies late in the evenings and at the weekends. It took me a while to make the necessary adjustments but once I found my rhythm it works out pretty smooth.

Do you have tips for people who are considering applying for the M.A./MBA(USA) program?

If you´re considering to apply for the M.A./MBA(USA) program, get in touch with one of their representatives and schedule personal meetings or calls – these skype calls made me very comfortable and confident to choose the M.A./MBA(USA) program over similar programs as all my questions and concerns were treated seriously and were answered adequately.
